International Day for The Eradication of Poverty

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is a day celebrated annually on October 17th to raise awareness about poverty and to promote efforts to eradicate poverty around the world.

The day was first designated by the United Nations in 1993 as a way to focus attention on the global problem of poverty and to promote efforts to eradicate it. International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is celebrated in countries around the world, with events and activities organized to raise awareness about poverty and to encourage people to work towards creating a more just and equitable world. The day is an opportunity to recognize the progress that has been made in reducing poverty and to renew efforts to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live a decent and dignified life.
