Kargil Vijay Diwas

Kargil Vijay Diwas is a day celebrated in India to mark the country’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999. The Kargil War was a military conflict between India and Pakistan that took place in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir, a disputed territory between the two countries. The war began in May of 1999 and ended in July of the same year, after Indian forces successfully drove Pakistani troops out of the Kargil district. Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on July 26th each year and is a day of national pride and commemoration in India, with ceremonies and events held to honor the sacrifices of the soldiers who fought in the conflict.
